Drinks and snacksStudent sampling for drinks and snacks brands.
Students buy snacks between lectures and stock their own kitchens, many for the first time. Here is how drinks and food brands get into their hands.
Students try what is handed to them.
Students buy drinks and snacks between lectures every day. Many are stocking their own kitchens for the first time, and the brands they pick up in first year can stay in the basket for years. In exam season, energy drinks and quick food become a daily habit.
Students spend about €1,340 a month on average (HEA, Eurostudent VIII). Food and drink is one of the few categories they buy every single day, often in the shop nearest the lecture hall.
The quickest way to a new habit is a sample in the hand, from someone their own age, in a place they already are. Posters before the sampling day make the brand familiar. A voucher or QR after it gives them a reason to buy.

One advertiser per category per city.
One advertiser per category per city for each campaign window. If you book, no competitor in your category runs with us in that city at the same time.
Our own placements include Trinity College Dublin and TU Dublin Grangegorman. Other campuses are planned campus by campus, within the rules of each campus. See Irish colleges.
Talk it through. Call or WhatsApp Philip on 087 054 9971, email hello@studentlink.ie, or use the brief form below. Tell us the product, the cities and the dates, and we will come back with a plan and a quote.
Can you sample alcohol brands on campus?
Many campuses bar alcohol advertising, for example DCU and University of Galway. Alcohol brands usually work through bar promotions off campus, within the law and the venue's rules.
Who hands out the samples?
Students who know the campus, briefed on your product and on each campus's rules.
Can posters point students to the shops that stock us?
Yes. We place posters on campus and around the convenience stores near campus, and the artwork can name where to buy.
Is the category exclusive?
Yes. One advertiser per category per city for each campaign window, so no competing brand in your category runs with us in that city at the same time.
