Coach, bus and taxi

Student marketing for coach, bus and taxi.

Students travel home all year, and take taxis home after nights out. Here is how coach, bus, airport and taxi brands reach them before they book.

The problem

Students travel home all year. Be the way they book.

Students travel home by coach and bus all year, and Christmas is one of the biggest trips home of the year. They fly home and away, and they take taxis home after nights out. Each trip is a choice between operators, often made on a phone a few hours before.

Many students live away from home during term: there were 47,600 purpose built student beds in the State at the end of 2025 (Sherry FitzGerald Research, February 2026), on top of private rentals. Every one of those students has a trip home to book.

Students on a budget compare on price and convenience. A poster on campus, with the route, the student fare and a QR to book, puts you in the comparison before it starts.

How it fits

Where campus postering and sampling fit.

  1. 01

    Route posters

A3 posters naming your routes from that campus, with a QR to book.

  2. 02

    Before the trip home

Posters timed to the weeks before reading week, Christmas, end of term and Easter.

  3. 03

    Nights out

For taxi and ride hailing apps, posters across campus and the student neighbourhoods before the busiest nights out of term.

  4. 04

    Student housing

Placement around residences, where students plan the weekend trip home.

  5. 05

    App downloads

A QR with a campaign tag, so you can see downloads and bookings from the campaign.

  6. 06

    Opt in WhatsApp

A list students choose to join for fares and departure reminders, with an easy way out in every message.

Timing

When it works best.

  • September: new students learn their route home.
  • Mid term and reading weeks: trips home.
  • November to December: Christmas nights out and the trip home for Christmas.
  • Easter and end of term: home again.
What a campaign includes

Exactly what you get.

No guesswork: these are the parts of every StudentLink campaign.

  1. 01

  2. 02

    Print

A3 posters, plus a full reserve set for replacements.

  3. 03

    Placement

Campus buildings, students' union areas, library approaches, canteen corridors and the student neighbourhoods nearby, within each campus's rules.

  4. 04

    Monitoring

Two checks during the run. Anything removed, damaged or covered is replaced from the reserve at no extra charge.

  5. 05

    Proof

Photos when the posters go up, and a campaign report at the end.

  6. 06

    Payment

A deposit secures the dates and your category. The balance is due on the campaign report.

FAQ

Questions we get asked.

Can the posters name our routes from each campus?

Yes. We can version the artwork by campus, so each poster names the routes and stops that matter there.

Do you work with taxi and ride hailing apps?

Yes. Taxi apps fit the same model, with posters before the busiest nights out of term and a QR to download the app.

Can you place near student residences?

Yes, on approved boards and walls in the student neighbourhoods around campus, as well as on campus within each campus's rules.

Is the category exclusive?

Yes. One advertiser per category per city for each campaign window, so no competing operator in your category runs with us in that city at the same time.

How do we start?
